You are now able to earn the children's yoga teacher specialty designation of Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT) by completing ChildLight Yoga's 95 hr. Children's Yoga Teacher Training!
We have created a flexible module format which allows you to attend one module at a time in various nationwide locations or take full advantage of our 2017 Summer Intensive options to be held at our home studio in Dover, NH! This personalized module format not only allows scheduling flexibility, but provides the freedom to learn how to share yoga with a wide range of ages in a myriad of settings!
Should you wish to apply for the designation of Registered Children's Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance their website states: "Teachers can register as a RCYT if they have successfully completed both a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and a 95-hour children's yoga training—in either order—that are registered with Yoga Alliance. Applicants must submit 30 teaching hours in children’s yoga which must be performed after completing a program with a RCYS (Registered Children’s Yoga School)." Due to Yoga Alliance standards, we have placed a three-year time limit on completion of the 95-hour program, beginning on the date of your enrollment.
*Save $25 on each training module when you enroll!*
(For personal use and new registrations only)

Q & A:
Is it necessary to complete 95 hours of training and be an RCYT to teach yoga to children?
No! This is a question we are asked ALL the time. Certainly, having the Yoga Alliance RCYT designation denotes that you are extremely qualified to teach yoga to children. However, requirements for teaching yoga to children reside with the employer or class host location. Most of the time, it is not necessary to be a registered yoga teacher with an additional 95 hours of training to teach yoga to children safely and effectively. Our own trainings, as well as our hosted trainings, provide important continuing education opportunities for yoga teachers as well as a variety of other professionals. Having said that, we are thrilled to be able to offer yoga teachers seeking the RCYT designation a comprehensive, thoughtful, practical curriculum for gaining a deeper understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects related to sharing yoga with children.
I haven't taken a 200 hour yoga teacher training. Do I need to complete that before I begin the ChildLight Yoga 95 hr program?
Many participants start out teaching yoga to children and are then inspired to deepen their study of yoga by attending a 200 hr training. You do, however, need to be a RYT in order to apply for the RCYT designation through the Yoga Alliance. Which you complete first is up to you.
What else do I need to know about registering as a RCYT?
Yoga Alliance requires you to be a current RYT and teach 30 hours of children's yoga classes AFTER completing the 95 hour program and BEFORE applying for the designation.
My chosen program equals more than 95 hours, why?
ChildLight Yoga has been offering quality teacher trainings for children's yoga programming for over ten years. We will continue to maintain our high standards, which may result in giving you even more training than is required by the Yoga Alliance Organization.
How do I get started?
Submit your application here! You are in no way obligated to complete the program.
This is confusing!
