"Helping all children embrace their full potential and live their lives with joy through the practice of yoga and mindfulness."

Marie strives to help all children embrace their full potential and live their lives with joy through the practice of yoga and mindfulness. Following a 35 year career as an early childhood/special education teacher, Marie began an exploration of yoga. While completing her RYT 200 at Prasada Yoga Center in her hometown of Hampton, NH, Marie developed a unique conflict resolution workshop for children called Peacing. The desire to combine these two practices led Marie to ChildLight Yoga. During her 95hr. training for her certification to teach yoga to children, Marie discovered tools to help children overcome physical, mental and emotional to learning, including skills to improve focus and concentration. As a kinesthetic learner herself, Marie loves to share this style of learning, and combines techniques for breathing, focusing, and relaxing with age-appropriate yoga. Committed to promoting feelings of safety and enjoyment for her students, Marie believes that encouragement and positive reinforcement in the practice of yoga and mindfulness can positively impact the student, family, classroom, community and society as a whole.

Marie has been teaching yoga to children for the past ten years in schools as well as other yoga studios. Most recently, she has taught the Kids Yoga Discovery Program at the ChildLight Yoga Studio in Dover, NH.

Within a framework of respect for all students, compassionate communication, and joyful exploration, students are taught fundamental life skills that are immediately available for daily use.

Deneen Bernier, RYT-200, RCYT, has been working with youth since 1995, focusing on children’s yoga and nature connection since 2008. Her greatest passions in nurturing young people are in building relationships to self, others and the surrounding environment; connecting to nature through sensory experiences; accompanied by intentional living with mindful health and wellness. Deneen utilizes a holistic approach, guiding students in finding their gifts and a way of life that keeps them healthy and resilient through the use of yoga, stories, nature education, exploration and play. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family; making wild plant medicine, jewelry & music; trail running or practicing yoga in the fields, forests and beaches near her home in Wells, Maine.
Rachel Hunt, RYT-200, began practicing yoga in college as a way to balance out her active lifestyle. Amazed by the benefits that yoga had on both her body and mind, she continued on to become a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. She began teaching at many different studios and gyms in the Boston area and continued teaching after her move to Seacoast, New Hampshire. When Rachel was pregnant with her son, she decided to become certified in prenatal yoga. She felt like it was also the best birth education she had received and loves to share her experience with other expecting mothers. She is constantly continuing her yoga education by taking a variety of master classes and workshops which include: yoga for athletes, yoga adjust and assist, and yoga anatomy and alignment. Her classes are open to all levels and focus on strength, balance, mobility, and breath. Rachel is available for group and private instruction.
