Grades 6 - 12
Yoga for Young Athletes is an all-levels one hour class specially designed for young adults ages 13-18 who wish to prepare their bodies and minds for peak performance in athletics and performance endeavors such as soccer, dance, football, baseball/softball, gymnastics, volleyball, ice hockey, track & field, golf, field hockey, tennis, cross-country running, swimming, martial arts and more. Join the many elite and professional athletes who practice yoga and mindfulness as part of their regular training and game/performance preparation routine.
Students will gain physical and mental strength, flexibility, and improve coordination and balance while developing skills to manage stress, improve focus and concentration. Through yoga-based movement and breath awareness, students will cultivate self-awareness and interconnectedness in an accepting, non-judgmental environment. Class will end with an 8-10 minute quiet relaxation to promote integration and an overall sense of peace and well being.
Benefits of Yoga for Young Athletes:
Open to all youth in grades 6 - 12. No experience is required. Please bring your yoga mat and a spouted water bottle. Extra mats are always available should you not have one. The boutique also offers mats for sale for as little at $10.
